Impliant develops novel spine arthroplasty implant devices as alternatives to fusion for some of the most common spinal pathologies.
The company is currently developing the TOPS™ Total Posterior Arthroplasty System, a mobile posterior implant designed to alleviate pain resulting from spinal stenosis, with or without degenerative facet arthrosis and spondylolisthesis. Following a laminectomy and medial facetectomy, the device is attached to the spine via four pedicle screws using a standard posterior surgical procedure that stabilizes the affected vertebral level while allowing motion.
